Provincial migration to Canada.

Provincial Nominee Program for Manitoba (MPNP):

Manitoba is one of the provinces in Canada, bordered by Ontario to the east and Saskatchewan to the west. Its landscape stretches from the northern Tundra to Hudson Bay in the east and south, encompassing lakes, rivers, mountains, forests, and agricultural plains. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) offers two streams for investment: the Business Investor Stream and the Entrepreneur Pathway. To learn more about these streams, you can stay with us at Palina Immigration Company until the end of this article.

A) Entrepreneur Pathway: In the Entrepreneur Pathway, as the name suggests, you must have a minimum of three years of full-time work experience as an active business owner or senior manager within the last five years. However, meeting these requirements alone does not guarantee eligibility for the Entrepreneur Pathway under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). You must also have a minimum ownership of one-third of the business to qualify for points as an entrepreneur.

General educational requirements for participation in the Entrepreneur Pathway include having a high school diploma or its equivalent. In terms of English language proficiency, you must take the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) test and achieve a minimum level 5.

Regarding the investment amount, you first need to decide whether you intend to do business in the Capital Region of Manitoba or outside it. The investment threshold is variable: a minimum of $250,000 for businesses in the Capital Region of Manitoba and at least $150,000 for businesses outside the region. Additionally, your business must meet the criteria set by Manitoba and create employment for at least one permanent resident or Canadian citizen.

A final note about the Entrepreneur Pathway under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is that you must have completed a commercial visit or exploratory visit within one year prior to submitting your application, and you must have a net worth of over $500,000 CAD.

B) Farm Investor Pathway: In the Farm Investor Pathway under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), applicants must have farming or agri-business experience and the required capital, considering the agricultural and horticultural needs in Manitoba. To participate in this pathway, you must have a minimum of three years of documented executive farming or farm management experience.

General and financial requirements for the Farm Investor Pathway include having $300,000 CAD for investment in the farming or agri-business sector, actively managing the business, presenting a business plan, undergoing a business analysis visit to Manitoba, and having a net worth of $500,000 CAD. There are no specific language requirements; however, the applicant should be able to communicate in English or French during the immigration officer interview.

If you meet the initial eligibility criteria, you can submit your application to the Manitoba Immigration Office after completing the required forms. After conducting an exploratory visit to the province and providing additional documents to the Manitoba Immigration Office, you will be interviewed by an immigration officer. Finally, if the Manitoba Immigration Office approves your application, a nomination will be issued, and you will be required to pay a $75,000 CAD deposit to Manitoba as a guarantee. Afterward, you can apply for permanent residency (PR) in Canada, which will be considered in a positive light in this situation.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

Alberta is a province in western Canada. Its borders include mountains, prairies, badlands, and vast coniferous forests. Alberta is home to over 600 lakes and rich mineral reserves. In the west, the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks and the Columbia Icefield have glaciers. The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) offers two types of investment programs: the Self-Employed Farmer Stream and the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS). You can learn more about these programs by staying with us at Palina Immigration Company until the end of this article.

A) Self-Employed Farmer Stream:

The Self-Employed Farmer Stream is an investment program under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) designed to attract foreign immigrants to invest in agriculture in Canada. The first requirement in the Self-Employed Farmer Stream is to have a high school diploma, which is compared to the educational standards in Alberta. Additionally, the applicant’s annual income must be higher than CAD 23,392.

Another requirement for this program is to have a minimum language proficiency level of CLB 5 or NCLC 5. Work experience is also considered in the Self-Employed Farmer Stream. The applicant can provide evidence of work and training experience in the field through their existing and active agricultural business documents, a detailed business plan, or documents showing that a Canadian financial institution will invest in their business. They can present their own work experience.

From a business perspective, the Self-Employed Farmer Stream under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) requires a minimum investment of CAD 500,000 in an agricultural business, and the applicant must provide a detailed plan for their investment. The success or failure of the programs offered is determined based on the agricultural sector’s needs in the province of Alberta.

B) Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS):

Applicants in the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) program must have a valid work permit in Canada. This permit may include a valid work permit with a specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) code obtained through three pathways: 1) obtaining a work permit from the Ministry of Labor (LMA), 2) being exempt from obtaining a work permit from the Ministry of Labor (LMA), or 3) international students who are exempt from LMA and have a work permit after graduation. However, this method is not applicable to individuals who have applied for asylum or have been expelled from Canada.

In terms of general requirements for applicants in the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) program, they need to have a higher qualification than a high school diploma or an intermediate course. Additionally, the obtained master’s degree must be recognized by a post-secondary educational institution in Alberta. If the applicant does not have a bachelor’s degree or higher, they must have participated in a program of at least two years. For language proficiency, a minimum of CLB 5 or NCLC 5 is generally required, although specific occupations such as nursing and healthcare services may require CLB 7 or NCLC 7.

To participate in the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) program, the applicant must be employed in one of the national occupations under the NOC codes 0, A, B, C, and D and have sufficient experience in the requested occupation. The term “sufficient experience” means that since the applicant is applying for one of the occupations eligible under AINP, the requested occupation must align with the applicant’s experience. It should be noted that the applicant cannot change the requested occupation for their program.

In terms of statistics and figures, sufficient experience means having 12 months of full-time work experience in the desired occupation in Alberta during the past 18 months, or having 24 months of full-time work experience in Canada during the past 30 months, or having a work permit after graduation with 6 months of full-time work experience in the past 18 months. It should be noted that the desired occupation must be related to the applicant’s field of study.

For individuals with a post-graduation work permit who have work experience in a paid occupation, this can be considered as part of their educational program at an Alberta post-secondary institution, and they can use this experience as part of their work history.

Before applying for the Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) program, the applicant must have a budget to support themselves and their family, including the individual, unmarried children under 22 years old, and spouse, even if they are not immigrating with you. It is important to use the gross annual income, which is the annual salary after tax deductions.
