Super Visa Canada

Super Visa Canada Application Process

In 2011, the Super Visa program was introduced by the Canadian government and the immigration authorities to facilitate the entry of parents and grandparents of Canadian residents or citizens. The Super Visa is essentially a temporary resident permit that allows parents, grandparents, or other eligible family members with Canadian permanent residence to visit Canada for up to two years at a time without the need for renewal. While the Super Visa has a validity of ten years for most applicants, it is reduced to five years for Iranian nationals due to the validity of Iranian passports. It’s important to note that this type of visa does not include dependent children or other relatives.

The first type of Super Visa is a Single Entry visa, meaning the applicant can enter Canada only once and will not have permission to re-enter the country once they leave. The second type, known as Multiple Entry Super Visa, generally remains valid until one month prior to the passport’s expiry date. For example, if the applicant’s passport has a validity of four years and one month at the time of visa issuance, the Super Visa will also be valid for four years, allowing the applicant to stay in Canada for up to two years each time they enter.

Eligibility for Super Visa Canada:

The Super Visa is specifically designed for parents and grandparents of Canadian permanent residents or citizens. The applicant must have a valid passport and permission to enter Canada. Additionally, a signed invitation letter from the applicant’s child or grandchild is required, stating the list and number of family members being invited, a detailed care plan for the parents by the child or grandchild, complete postal information of the inviting party, proof of the inviting party’s Canadian citizenship, a declaration of financial support for the applicant during their visit, and supporting documents proving the family relationship between the inviter and the applicant.

The applicant must also complete Form IMM5257, which is specifically for individuals seeking a temporary resident visa for purposes of tourism, visiting, or business travel to Canada. The applicant must have medical insurance coverage from a Canadian company for at least $100,000, valid for a minimum of one year from the date of entry into Canada.

Another required document is proof of payment for medical insurance before entering Canada. The insurance should cover medical and health care expenses, hospitalization costs, and similar matters. To ensure that the visa officer can assess the applicant’s medical fitness and determine their eligibility for entry into Canada from a medical perspective, the applicant must undergo immigration medical examinations prior to the issuance of the Super Visa.

Stage 1: First, the applicant needs to determine their method of applying for the Super Visa. There are two methods available. In the first method, the application is done in person, and once all the required documents are complete, the applicant submits them for registration by visiting one of the Canadian embassies. The specified fee should be included as part of the application, and all subsequent follow-ups are done through the reference number provided by the embassy.

In the second method, the application is done online. In this approach, the applicant scans their documents and uploads them to the official website of the Canadian embassy. Once the documents are uploaded, the applicant has thirty days to visit one of the designated centers for biometric enrollment and complete the registration process.

Stage 2: In this stage, the applicant needs to download and complete all relevant forms from the website.

Stage 3: The applicant completes the items listed in the downloaded checklists.

Stage 4: In this stage, the applicant pays the processing fees for the application.

Stage 5: The applicant uploads the completed application form to the official website of the Canadian embassy and receives a receipt for further tracking.

Stage 6: In this stage, using the receipt from the previous stage, the applicant checks the status of their application online.
